Our High intensity interval training (HIIT) classes incorporate cardio and strength equipment into a one hour class that will get you in the best shape of your life. HIIT is the most effective workout because it combines intense work followed by rest and recovery. We keep the body guessing by challenging you with a different HIIT class every time! We also offer recovery and retreat of mind and body with vinyasa and restorative yoga classes. We created our own signature style low impact toning and lengthening class that combines mat pilates, barre and yoga called Zenlates. Our acronym says it all: Stay healthy, Enjoy Life, Love yourself, and Focus on Fitness.
Kate is a Doctor of Pharmacy and practices at a local pharmacy. She is a certified personal and group fitness trainer. Dedicated to healthcare and fitness, she loves to stay active, be a part of the South Bay and is excited to offer a workout she truly believes in! She is known for her killer cardio! She loves building the community at SELF and thinks life is all about finding people who are your kind of crazy! You will hear Kate say: It never gets easier you just get better! Ryan Is a certified fitness trainer with 12 years experience in personal and group fitness. He played sports for over 23 years in Turkey, his native country. He specializes in customized training plans and fitness assessments. He is also certified in indoor cycling and crossfit training. Ryan is passionate about improving client health and creating an active lifestyle for them. He loves to do anything that ends in the word "bike" & "board" (skateboard, dirt bike, surfboard, snowboard, wakeboard, off road bike) ....you get the point! During class you will hear Ryan say "You are stronger than you think".
Robert is a certified personal and group fitness trainer; He has over 20 years of fitness experience in the South Bay area and could be called our “Fitness Mayor”. Robert’s passion and love for snowboarding, mountain biking and surfing make him an expert instructor that focuses on strength, conditioning and balance! He will bring out the competitor in you! He is our team builder and will be giving you a high five throughout class. You will hear Robert say: Be so good they can’t ignore you!
A Chicago born California transplant, Steven is no stranger to REAL weather or a REAL sweaty workout. Steven is a NASM certified personal trainer and has been athletic his whole life. He specializes in strength, conditioning and nutrition. After overcoming some life threatening health issues in his early teens, Steven dedicated himself to the study and practice of leading a healthy lifestyle. His passion for fitness stems from the knowledge that fitness can change your life. He carries that passion and drive into every single workout. Other than the occasional pancake breakfast indulgence (his weakness) he lives and breathes fitness. Stevens life motto is ”A strong heart is a grateful heart. Ground yourself in gratitude”.
Tanaz is an RYT with 270 hours of training in Yin, Restorative and Vinyasa yoga. She specializes in teaching yoga through a trauma-informed lens catering to the sensitivities of her student’s nervous system. Living in a busy city like LA she saw how people are in desperate need to rest and recharge from the constant stimulation around them, this is when she began to realize her passion for teaching Yin/Yang and Restorative Yoga. Her classes are a place where students can tap into their internal world, helping them melt away the stress of the day. You can expect her classes to be focused around slow mindful movements that are always focused around the sacred life force of breath. In class you will hear Tanaz say: “You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” Gautama Buddha
Melinda is a strength and mobility movement trainer in the South Bay. She studied and now trains weight lifting, HIIT, kickboxing, TRX, Animal Flow, dance, primal movement, and breath work. Melinda helps our clients reach their fitness goals and live a happier healthier life! You will hear Melinda say: "Knowing thyself is the beginning of all wisdom" (Aristotle)
Lizzette was struggling with core strength and time for fitness after her second son was born . She became certified in pilates and group fitness training and it became her new passion! She loves to make fitness fun with great music during her classes and encourages students to get comfortable with being uncomfortable! You will hear Lizzette say " I'm forever a student"
Maj has been in the health & fitness industry as an ACE certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and licensed massage therapist for 12 years. Maj. She enjoys helping others balance family and career. She believes finding time for fitness is the key to caring for herself and being a good example for her children. You will hear Maj say "To reach your fitness goals you have to step outside your comfort zone"

Vinyasa Flow Yoga will give you strength flexibility and balance. It works to tone muscles as it builds flexibility and stamina. Your flow will focus on weight-bearing standing poses, which build the heat necessary to aid stretching. After getting your endorphins going we will take you through a relaxation state focusing on your breath and mindfulness. This class is designed for all levels; beginners are given direction and our yoga experts are given challenges.
Restorative Flow is your yoga style if you want to calm and center your body. It incorporates a relaxing flow with breath and alignment. It is a great class to take after a HIIT class to restore and stretch your achy muscles. Restorative flow will allow you to work harder in your next HIIT class bc you are rejuvenated. Restorative Flow is designed for all levels.
Yin-Yang is a combined restorative and vinyasa flow class. The Yin portion of this class is a gentle, quiet, and meditative practice that teaches us to relax and accept ourselves just as we are. All poses are done on the floor so that the muscles can relax and allow the deep connective tissues surrounding the hips, thighs, and lower back to be gently stretched. Through mindful stretching, Yin Yoga maintains the health of the connective tissue and encourages free flow of qi (energy) in the body. Poses are held for longer periods of time (generally 3-5 minutes) and awareness is brought to sensations in the body.
Zenlates is a low impact workout designed to tone and lengthen your entire body. It combines mat pilates, barre and yoga. You will enjoy isometric holds, controlled one inch movements and increasing your range of motion.
